Firehouse Subs, the growing national sandwich chain, has opened a second Maine location at 8 Waterville Commons Drive in Waterville.

The chain, founded by brothers and former firefighters Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen, featured steamed sub buns with meat, cheese and veggie fillings, as well as fresh salads. Firehouse Subs has expanded rapidly over the past few years, and is now found throughout the country and, newly, in Canada. Its restaurants have a firefighting theme and often donate to local charities as well as local firefighters.

The new Waterville location, operated by Coleman Sheffield and Chad LaChance, joins the Topsham location as the state’s second Firehouse Subs.
