Bangor’s West Market Square Artisan Coffeehouse to open April 11

West Market Square Coffeehouse

A red couch. Red cups and saucers. Shiny brewing equipment. A website. A Facebook page.

Over the last few months, these pieces have come together like a living puzzle as a transformation has happened in a West Market Square storefront. And next week, everyone will be able to see if for themselves when West Market Square Artisan Coffeehouse opens.

West Market Square Artisan Coffeehouse recently announced on their Facebook page that they’ll open for business on Monday, April 11, at 7 a.m. The coffeehouse will be open six days a week, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Wednesday, and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday.

West Market Square Coffeehouse menuCoffees will start at $2.75 for an espresso or small drip coffee. Flavored lattes are the priciest thing on the menu — $5 for a small, $5.75 for a large. There will also be a selection of teas, hot chocolate and a limited food menu — pastries, desserts, muffins, quiche, soup, salad and a snack plate — according to the menu posted on the coffeehouse’s website (and printed as a flier as well).

The new coffee shop takes the space last occupied by the Big Easy Lounge, which may or may not have closed due to the Charles Inn’s participation in a hotel makeover show.
