When’s Bangor’s Elevation Burger Opening?

Elevation Burger Outside

Work is underway at the future location of Elevation Burger in Bangor, announced last year for the mall area. The 2,450 square foot retail space located at 461 Stillwater Avenue now has walls separating it from other space in the newly constructed retail center, and kitchen equipment being installed.

Inside, the bright space is beginning to look like the fast-casual restaurant it will soon become with spaces for eating, cooking and bathrooms taking shape.

So when will it open, anyway?

“We are looking at an early to mid-April opening and the Bangor restaurant will also be the second Elevation Burger in the country to have a drive-thru,” said franchise co-owner Mark Caron in an email to the Bangor Daily News earlier this week.

Elevation Burger Drive-Thru

The drive-thru window, which has already been installed, sits on the wall closest to nearby business Hobby Lobby.

Have you been to Elevation Burger before? Caron and his co-franchise owners also have locations in South Portland, Portland and Augusta. Although it’s a national chain, the restaurant has some distinctly Maine features — like the mega burger known as the Katahdin Burger, which can be ordered with up to 10 (yes, TEN!) patties.

Don’t worry though, most burgers come with a more manageable one or two patties.

“Folks can expect fresh burgers made with 100% organic grass-fed beef that is ground in the store, chicken sandwiches made with 100% organic cage free chicken, our famous fresh-cut fries cooked in olive oil, hand scooped shakes and malts, and over 150 soft drink flavors from our Coke Freestyle Machine,” said Caron. “We’ll also be carrying beers from Peak Organic Beer Company.”

There are also veggie and vegan burger options as well.

Hiring is also underway. Last month, the company posted a job opening seeking applications for general manager and assistant manager positions on the website Craigslist.
